Because the property is so beautiful it truly doesn't need much in terms of decoration as you find with many venues. "Once I saw this venue, I knew that nothing else was going to compare, and I was right. Lucky for me, my fiance (now husband) and parents agreed. :) The beauty of Camp Lucy really speaks for itself...the grounds and facilities are just absolutely gorgeous. Our guests certainly agreed! There are some rules that they are not flexible on, but it is all clearly stated in the contract. So, just make sure you read and understand everything upfront, and, if you don't, just ask! :) During the months leading up to our wedding, our phone calls/emails were always returned in a timely manner (especially once additional staff was added). A couple of months before our big day, we were assigned a specific staff member who would serve as our primary point of contact and as our site manager on the day of the wedding. I think someone was looking out for us because we were assigned the absolutely BEST person possible! Kim Hunt was a dream to work with. She answered every question we had (usually within five minutes)! She worked with us to make some things happen that normally wouldn't even fall under her list of responsibilities. When my bridal portrait session ran longer than the time allowed by Camp Lucy, she told me not to worry about it--just to enjoy all the pictures that were being taken! She even got me bottled water and helped me carry my photo props from place to place. During the rehearsal, she was there to help in any way she could. And, on the day of the wedding, she arrived early so that we could get in and start getting everything set up. She helped me unload our u-haul full of stuff (yes, we had that much stuff! haha) so that I wouldn't get sweaty. She helped solve a last-minute issue with our ceremony seating. She checked in with me throughout the day/night just to make sure everything was going perfectly! I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful Kim Hunt was. "I just got married at Camp Lucy (May 2012) I cannot tell you how beautiful this place is! Kimberly, Andrea and all of the staff at Camp Lucy were very attentive, flexible and so easy to work with. They returned my calls and emails quickly. Make sure to budget the fact that almost everything.. from extra chairs, tables, down to utensils and linens will need to be rented. You will also need to have a wedding coordinator. The Brides Cottage is beautiful and was a great place for all of the girls to get ready. The chapel is incredible. .. intimate, great acoustics and unique. The reception hall is a perfect size and beautiful just as it is. We hired a band and the sound was excellent inside the hall. "The most BEAUTIFUL VENUE in and around Austin! The setting and property are just stunning! You get the look of a million dollar wedding for a fairly reasonable price. If you're a bride on a budget like I was .. book off season and off peak days like Sunday.. you get just as much time but you get a better price. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The company is constantly growing and changing so just be sure you're abreast of all the changing policies. You will not find a more amazing place to get married at than Camp Lucy it's just a notch above all the rest. You get a chapel, an outdoor pavilion and patio as well as an events center so you can keep your guests moving and interested in one location. "Where do I begin? The minute I saw the website for Camp Lucy, I knew IT WAS THE PLACE FOR ME...However, as skeptical as I can be at times, I thought...surely, the pictures were edited and not a true representation of this place?? Well, the venue was even more beautiful than the pictures. I was sold on the location the minute I got off the car and smelled the hill country air...I want to live there! Camp Lucy's staff changed a few times on me during my planning however, who I ended up working with was Tammy Garrett and she was a "God Send." She was patient, professional and made me feel great about my choice and my decisions along the way (she was honest as well). The venue does have a list of caterers that are recommended...I chose to go with the in-house caterer Verdes Mexican Padilla. Another reason why this location as absolutely fantastic! The food and the service provided by Verdes (Joel and Allana) was extra special! Together, they made me feel like the "Queen" for a day!
