Kennedy & Logan

What was your wedding date? December 12, 2020

What Camp Lucy venue did you select? Ian’s Chapel

What made you choose Camp Lucy to celebrate your love? I am from Austin and met my now husband, while we were both living in Austin. I knew I wanted something that was nearby but unique, and had a view of the hill country. We were looking for a venue that had more than 1 location, an outdoor space and indoor reception area. I had seen photos and knew of another couple who got married at Camp Lucy and fell in love with the history of the property, the view and the story behind Ian’s Chapel specifically. I also loved the idea that once the wedding kicked off with the ceremony, guests would be able to stay at the same location for the entirety of the evening. My family also wanted somewhere they could stay after, so the hotel rooms were perfect.

What was your favorite part/memory of your Camp Lucy wedding experience? We loved everything – from the venue, the food, the flowers, our band, etc. A few things that made Camp Lucy stick out to us was that it was dog-friendly! We were able to have our dog be part of the ceremony, as well as the flexibility of everything. I had ideas for all of the different parts of the wedding and our planner, along with our Account Manager at Camp Lucy, helped make sure we were able to customize everything exactly as we wanted.

Have you been back to Camp Lucy since the wedding? Not yet, but we plan to make a trip to stay for a weekend this year.

What made your Camp Lucy wedding experience such a positive one? We loved how we were able to truly do whatever we had envisioned. Kaitlin, the Camp Lucy Account Manager, made it so easy to think through logistics of the day – including our champagne sabre and toast which we held at the entrance to the reception hall.

What are you and your family up to now? Logan and I just recently moved to Washington DC in January and plan to be up here for the next few years with our dog Rainey.
